Soles for Catholic Education Walk

Help Fundraise on a 2-Mile Walk at School

Have you heard the news? On October 2, 2021, St. Francis Borgia Catholic School will be holding a local Soles for Catholic Education Walk at SFB School, 1425 Covered Bridge Rd., Cedarburg! We will be celebrating Catholic education and raising money for extracurricular clubs at school. Students, families, alumni, educators, principals and supporters are invited to rally together for this very important cause.

Donations raised by our school will help us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000. The impact of your donation will do even more to help our school, as generous Soles Walk sponsors have stepped up to match up to $5,000 of donations we receive. We have big plans for bringing lots of extracurricular clubs back into St. Francis Borgia Catholic School. Some of the new clubs we plan to introduce: Battle of the Books, Chess Club, MASH, Yearbook Club, STEM Programs, Art Club, and more!

Where: St. Francis Borgia Catholic School, 1425 Covered Bridge Rd.

When: October 2, 2021

Soles For Jesus

In addition to the 2-mile walk, we will be collecting used shoes for Soles For Jesus. Shoes are a basic luxury that we take for granted every day as we choose our favorite pair from our closet floor. Many of us are unaware that millions of people across our globe live barefoot lives. It is estimated that over one billion pairs of unworn shoes are taking up space in U.S. basements and closets. Some are outdated or outgrown, but many of them are in good condition and considered a treasure in a developing country.

Please bring used shoes with you on October 2nd to the Soles Walk at SFB.

What types of shoes do you accept?
All shoes! We accept all new and used shoes – all types and sizes. Any unusable shoes will be
repurposed and every pair will be put to use.

What will you do with received shoes that are not adequate for sending to Africa?
Shoes that are not adequate in African climate and terrain (i.e. winter boots or high heels), or not
usable due to excessive wear, will be repurposed through micro-enterprise. Micro-enterprise
represents one of the most effective ways to lift families out of the extreme poverty in devastated
economies. Small business owners can use our repurposed shoes to earn money for food and earn a
sustainable source of income.
